Your Coaching Agreement and Booking Policy.

Please read carefully before paying for and booking your first session.

What is coaching?

The International Coaching Federation defines coaching as “partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential. The process of coaching often unlocks previously untapped sources of imagination, productivity and leadership.”

We all have goals we want to reach, challenges we’re striving to overcome and times when we feel stuck. Partnering with a coach can change your life, setting you on a path to greater personal and professional fulfilment.   I believe you have all the answers within you, like a sculptor sees a statue within granite, and it’s my job as a coach to help chip away the excess stone hiding your true self, to reveal your full potential.

Coaching may address specific personal projects, business successes, and/or general conditions of your life or profession. You get to set your own homework if you wish to get the most from these sessions.

Coaching services may include values clarification, brainstorming, examining modes of operating in life, somatic work, visualisations, identifying plans of action, the sharing of educational information, the asking of clarifying questions and the making of empowering requests.  With Equus Coaching this includes working with a horse, on the ground, with Joanna present at all times.

Coaching is not therapy.

As client, you are fully responsible for your well-being during, after and between my coaching calls. You are responsible for all the choices you make, and it is your responsibility to state your needs around my sessions.  You can ask Joanna to further explain more about the difference between coaching, mentoring and therapy at any time.

What is Mentoring?

Mentoring is a relationship which supports learning and experimentation and helps individuals develop their potential.   I understand Joanna may share her knowledge, skills, and experience with me to help me to progress when she perceives that it will reach a quicker and more effective result than coaching.

Joanna will collaborate with you to share mentorship advice and experience in the way that is most empowering if it is called for.  She offers this advice with a clear distinction from coaching i.e. she will seek permission and only offer it if it seems clear that you do not have the knowledge base in this area.  You can choose to follow this or find my own way.

Mentorship is no guarantee of financial success.  Joanna will do all she can to assist with growing your practice in practical steps.  How much you achieve will depend on your input, response and how life unfolds.  That said, nearly all clients experience a big shift in client bookings and revenue.

Your coaching package

If you have signed up for a specified number of sessions, with payment in advance or in instalments.  There is a time limit within which to take the sessions, as set out in the package details.

Upon completion of the initial contract period, should Joanna and you agree, a new coaching package will be offered and you are under no pressure to accept or not.  You may choose to discontinue coaching at any time although to gain any refund you do need to speak with Joanna first.

Refunds

On the rare occasion a refund is requested, after discussion with Joanna, this will be paid on a pro rata basis for sessions not taken.  There will usually be a £25 admin fee for this arrangement.

Cancellation and Rescheduling Appointments

Appointments will usually be selected by you from the electronic scheduler.

For ZOOM coaching:  48 hours working hours’ notice should be given to reschedule or cancel a session (i.e. Monday to Friday, so cancellation for a 10am Monday appointment must be notified by 10am on Thursday the previous week) should I need to cancel or change my appointment.  Without this notice period you will forfeit your session and full fee for that time.  You agree to turn up on time at the designated time - late arrival will not result in additional time.

For EQUUS coaching:  7 full days’ notice is required (due to the costs of hiring horses and equestrian facilities) to reschedule or cancel the appointment.  If less than this notice period is given you will forfeit 50% of the fee.  If less than 48 hours notice is given the full fee will be charged.

The exception to this is if I am unsatisfied within 14 days of signing this agreement I may request a full refund (minus any fees charged by Stripe, Paypal or other payment providing service – documentation can be provided if needed).

Confidentiality

Joanna is committed to keeping all contacts, information and records confidential in line with GDPR. From time to time, anonymous information may be shared with other coaches for supervision, training and feedback purposes.

Occasionally Joanna will ask me to confirm our coaching hours with the International Coaching Federation in order to confirm meeting their standards.  Joanna will contact me in this case to ask express consent.

The exceptions to our confidentiality agreement include being if you appear to be a danger to yourself or others.
